Yavapai Humane Society recently received a coveted 4-star rating for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator. Yavapai Humane Society is one of only three humane societies in all of Arizona to receive this high distinction. Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most utilized evaluator of charities and, in their quest to help donors, their team of professional analysts examine tens of thousands of non-profit financial documents. They then use this knowledge to develop an unbiased, objective, numbers-based rating system to assess over 160,000 of America’s best-known and some lesser known, but worthy, charities.

In a letter we received from Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, he writes “Based on the most recent information available, we have issued a new rating for your organization. We are proud to announce that your organization has earned a 4-star rating. Approximately only a quarter of rated charities have achieved this distinction!”
