Name: Hello! My name is Opal.

Hometown: I was born in Powhatan, Virginia and raised in Richmond, Virginia. I just moved to Prescott earlier this year and am in love with this town!

Age: I’m five-and-a-half-years young.

“Doooon’t even think about it…??!”

Favorite brand of kibble: My favorite is Royal Canin, but I’ll only eat it if it’s mixed with Fresh Pet, or if my parents pretend to cook it for me like they do their food.

Favorite people food: I go crazy for a good pup cup. One is never enough.

Favorite toy:  My favorite toy at the moment is a stuffed ice cream cone (strawberry and vanilla ice cream with a chocolate drip and sprinkles). It’s my comfort toy, especially during thunderstorms. Otherwise I love a good sloth or fox—or anything with stuffing and a squeaker really. I like to surprise my parents by decorating the apartment with the insides of my fallen toys.

Favorite outdoor activity: I love jumping on rocks at Willow Lake with my dad. We like to race, but I always win.

Favorite indoor activity: When I’m inside, I love to snuggle up with my mom when we’re watching TV, or I’ll just lay on her feet while she’s working on her computer. As long as I’m with my mom, my world is at peace. My dad is pretty cool, too.

Favorite nap spot: Anywhere! Give me a time and a place, and I’ll nap there.

Fitness regimen: Daily walks are okay, but my favorite fitness is the few times a week my parents take me on an adventure. Whether that’s hiking, swimming, or rock climbing, I’m always along for the journey.

Describe your perfect canine pal: My perfect canine pal would have to be my long-distance boyfriend, Everett. He currently lives in Philadelphia, but we grew up together in Richmond as young pup pals before parting ways. He’s a little bit older than me and quite the mutt, but love is love—except for when he tries to steal my pup cup.

Describe your perfect day: First, I would wake up in bed with my mom and dad. Next, they would give me bacon and eggs for breakfast because what dog really wants to eat kibble, am I right? Then, we would go to Oak Creek in Sedona where I can swim, hike, and rock climb all in the same place. Afterwards, we would get a pup cup, and a steak dinner would be waiting for me when I got home. Lastly, I’d want a good cuddle session on the couch with my parents while watching a kids’ movie (those are my favorite) before snuggling into bed for the night surrounded by all my favorite toys and a nite-nite cookie in my paw.
